Late Night Cravings: Berry Cobbler

I was very excited this evening to be able to find a recipe to make use of the fresh strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries that found their way into my fridge. At first I was thinking I would go the tart direction but given that it was already encroaching upon midnight I wanted to find something that would cook a little faster. It was then that I recalled one of my favorite all-time berry dessert dishes - Berry cobbler. This recipe is a great base. I would recommend doing half cup white sugar and 1/4 cup brown sugar. I would also suggest tossing your rinsed and trimmed berries with some sugar and letting them rest for a few minutes before placing them on top of the batter. In my oven and with help on the prep this entire dish takes about 55 minutes front to back - almost all of that time is spent in the oven. To top everything off I threw some heavy cream into a whip dispenser...shake and voila! Fresh whipped cream.
